Will I undergo any software training after my exams and before I join Patni? If yes, for how long
will be the training?
Yes, there will be an initial 10 week-long training at our facilities in Mumbai/ Pune. This is a comprehensive training programme covering one of the four major technologies- IBM Mainframe, Client Server, E-Com and Systems. This will be a full time 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, 10 weeks programme. Within one month from completion of the training, a fresh engineer is put on a global project in any offshore location. |

What does PPP stand for at Patni?
The concept of Patni Preparatory Programme (PPP) aims at imparting initial training to the participants before they become employees of the company. This facilitates the participants to gainfully use their free time before employment. This also benefits the organization since it helps us get ready-to-use trained resources for our projects. Under this programme, the organization imparts training to the participants without charging any fees. At the same time, there is no salary/stipend paid for this period to the participants. However, when the person actually joins the organization, a one time joining incentive is paid along with the first salary. |

How long is the probation period at Patni?
Campus recruits (freshers) have one year of probation, while employees with over one year of experience on joining are appointed on probation for a period of six months. |

How are increments determined at Patni?
A high performance work culture is inculcated at Patni, by anchoring a major part of the annual increments to the performance of the employee. In addition to this, the compensation team conducts an in-depth market study using different measuring tools and engaging professional independent agencies to collect and analyze data within the industry to arrive at competitive compensation benchmarking. Based on these inputs, viz., individual performance of the employees (performance & potential ratings), the company’s ability to sustain the cost, and the results of the benchmarking study, the annual raise is decided for every employee. All such revisions are communicated through individual letters addressed to the employees. |
