Our technical expertise includes different technology platforms including mainframes, Client Server, Microsoft Technologies, Web Technologies and Open Source Architectures. We are also working on the development of utility-specific solutions using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Patni has completed several hundred projects for our Energy & Utilities customers. Some key projects include: |
A Meter Process Automation solution that brought about significant betterment to the client's meter order processing system and marked reduction in processing costs and time. The client's existing process was manual or semi-automated resulting in errors and delays in Billing and Meter allocation. It also did not have the ability to accurately trace the progress of a Meter Service Request given by a customer. The Meter Process Automation team re-designed the existing application into two distinct categories of Validation and Posting, to achieve an extremely modular and flexible architecture. |
Customization and enhancement of the Billing System of the flagship product of one of the leading CIS product Companies. The global acceptance of the product required geography specific product requirements and a faster ‘time-to-market’. Patni’s team of consultants with cross-functional expertise was fully equipped to handle diverse situations and meet aggressive delivery schedules. |
A Restructured Billing Engine to provide significant betterment to the client’s billing system and marked reduction in maintenance costs. This resulted in a major milestone in Web-enabling of billing services, and equipping the client with the ability to serve as a Billing Service Provider. |
Enterprise Integration and creation of a B2B Portal for a large Trans-national petroleum organization. This project involved setting up a framework for traders, and interaction with customers and Integration of supplier information across various interaction points. This allows suppliers to register, login and bid. Users can look at various bids for a given product on a real-time basis. |
Documenting a Legacy Revenue Reporting Application to build its functionality in the existing homegrown CIS application of the Customer. Panti uses a tool-based approach to understand the functionality provided in the reports and to mine application artifacts (Business logic, Data structure, Flowcharts etc). This enabled Patni to create documentation to allow re-write of the application. The benefits of this approach were consistent documents due to usage of tools, accurate technical data/ information captured and improved turnaround time. |
