India, Mumbai December 6, 2006: Patni Computer Systems., a leading global IT consulting and services provider today announced the successful implementation of SSA ERP LN 6.1 for Xtreme Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of forward-reach rough terrain fork lifts. Xtreme is well known in the infrastructure and construction industry for its range of forklifts, easy loader truck beds and miscellaneous steel structures and support equipments.
"Having set the mandate to double our production capacity, we wanted to improve resource efficiencies and production planning in a short time. To achieve this, we had set ourselves an ambitious timeframe of implementing SSA ERP LN within eleven weeks, and Patni justified the immense faith we had in their capabilities" said Don Ahern, President, Xtreme Manufacturing.
Patni used its rapid implementation methodology to reduce the timeline. This lean methodology is most suited for organizations aiming to deploy out-of-the-box application. Patni's proprietary industry specific templates were deployed to accelerate the 'product mapping' phase'.
Patni's project management skills, technical proficiency in SSA ERP LN, and understanding of mixed-mode manufacturing came to the forefront in the successful completion of this challenging project. Based on the implementation roadmap finalized, Patni conducted a structured review of Xtreme's processes like finance, inventory management and production planning. This comprehensive exercise enabled Patni in realigning the processes to the functional specifications of ERP LN.
"We are pleased to have played a catalytic role in Xtreme's progress on their path to high performance manufacturing. Our experience in executing complex projects has enabled us to complete this implementation in an extremely short timeframe," said Mr. Milind S Padalkar, Senior VP and Head, Enterprise Application Services, Patni.
The rapid ERP implementation has also allowed Xtreme to create value differentiation from its competitors by giving it the ability to build enterprise wide visibility, reduce lead times, and improve customer intimacy.
