Patni strengthens European operations

Appoints Brian Stones as Executive Vice-President to lead Europe.

LONDON, UK, 4 June 2007: Patni Computer Systems (BSE: PATNI COMPUT, NSE: PATNI, NYSE: PTI) announced the appointment of Brian Stones as Executive Vice-President responsible for its European operations.

Speaking on the appointment, Mr. Mrinal Sattawala, COO, Patni said, “We are witnessing strong growth with tremendous opportunity in Europe and hence significant investments are being channelled to strengthen our operations in the region. We are pleased to appoint Brian Stones to spearhead this endeavour. Mr. Stones’ exposure to international, cross-functional business environments and his extensive management experience makes him a valuable asset for Patni.”

Patni’s European business showed a robust growth of over 60% last year. Patni already enjoys significant presence in European countries like Germany, Sweden, Netherlands and the UK. The European region accounted for 14.2% of Patni’s revenues for the quarter ended March 31 st 2007.

Mr. Stones has a very successful track record in direct and indirect sales, global account management and general business management in IT Services, consulting and outsourcing.

Prior to joining Patni, Mr. Stones was a Senior Vice-President with ACS Inc. for two years, responsible for the business operation in Europe. He also worked as a Vice-President for Capgemini and was formerly a Senior Partner at Ernst & Young, most notably as the Leader of the Global Client Consulting business in Europe. Overall, Mr. Stones has over 28 years of international business experience in the European sphere.

Complementing his business expertise, Mr. Stones has a solid academic background in Economics and Business Science, gaining honours degrees in both.
