|
Patni's Process Consulting expertise enables a robust digitized program for metrics collection,
measurement and data warehousing.
The Client
The client is one of the

institutions in the world.
Patni is associated with
the client in delivering

divisions.
The Challenge
The client restructured their IT services division on functional lines and
wanted to monitor the success of the restructuring. They planned to use
metrics to measure the month-by-month performance of the various
groups, based on the Critical Success Factors defined for each group. The
main objective of the Metrics Digitization program was to identify Key
Performance Measurement Metrics for each Critical Success Factor and
digitize the metrics generation process.
Key challenges of the project were:

Using the existing data collection mechanism to present a unified
metrics representation of the restructured organization, ensuring
due consideration of people and process-related issues. |
 |
Recommending and implementing a data warehousing tool, providing
various cuts and dices, as required, to various stakeholders. |
The Solution
Patni's role in consulting on the Metrics Digitization program, carried out onsite,
involved:
 |
Comprehensive study of existing metrics definition, including:
–Evaluation of data capture mechanism, covering issues with respect to
People/Process/Tools
–Identification of the CSF for metrics digitization
–Identification of Day1 metrics
|
 |
Analysis of metrics digitization requirements |
 |
Evaluation of alternate solutions |
 |
Requirements specification for metrics data warehousing. |
The Benefits
 |
Maximum extraction of best practices from existing
process, technology and data collection mechanism,
ensuring minimal hampering of day-to-day operations |
 |
Enhanced performance measurement and speedier
monitoring of progress through use of metrics |
