In close partnership with Patni, the client is pioneering a new business and operational model as well as an
innovative platform infrastructure for bringing together MVNOs and Network Operators in a dynamic
ecosystem, providing increased ROI and reduced TCO for all participants.
The Client
This is the first company to
offer a turnkey technology and
services platform for creating
Mobile Virtual Network
Operators (MVNOs) in the
United States. It links wireless
carriers with MVNOs to create,
for the carrier, an attractive
wholesale business and, for the
consumer brand, a highly
profitable new revenue stream.
The client successfully
launched the first MVNO on
Dec 1, 2004.
The Challenge
The client required definition of a new, hosted business model for launching and
delivering MVNO services that would provide clear benefits over the traditional
MVNO managed approach while complementing and integrating to the business
model of the Network Operator and MVNO.
This complex OSS/BSS infrastructure needs to provide critical customer-facing
MNVO services (customer care, order management, billing, assurance) in a multitenant,
wireless network independent fashion, a complex business process
management framework was required to support the variety of enterprise
applications, 3rd party providers and business processes of multiple MVNOs.

Network Operator business and technical requirements, on one

The Solution
The client and Patni are engaged in a close partnership for developing the innovative MVNE
platform, with Patni participating in all the critical roles and activities of the client's IT
organization including Business Requirements and Business Analysis, IT Strategy and Vendor
Selection, Program Management, Product Architecture and Design, Development, Quality
Assurance, Production rollout and support.
Patni has developed an innovative MVNE infrastructure, built around an OSS/BSS multi-tenant
MVNO framework, a service-oriented architecture and best-in-class OSS/BSS applications.

Platform, Patni architected a multi-tenant business integration framework
that provides the core set of enterprise business processes for any MVNO as
well as the built-in flexibility to support specific MVNO requirements with
minimal development effort.
The client's business integration solution orchestrates the MVNO business
transaction between all the OSS/BSS components, such as Siebel, Geneva,
Network Activation, Wireless Application Framework, Content Provider and
Web Portal Presentation Services. |
