Patni's BI solution enables business-critical, cross-functional analysis for large client in Europe
Through the "SMART" data warehouse, Patni provided highly efficient reporting capability outside enterprise-wide SAP R/2, using a cost-effective onsite-offshore model.
The Client
One of Europe's largest lighting manufacturer and supplier, with manufacturing facilities and distribution centers throughout Europe.
The Challenge
The client had implemented the SAP R/2 system to cater functional areas such as Finance, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Service and Sales Invoicing. All transactional data was captured in SAP and then used for conducting day-to-day business functions and activities.
The client required to:
Reduce the costs involved in Mainframe usage |
Extend the ability of enterprise-wide SAP R/2 implementation to provide cross-functional reporting |
Measure, improve and control distribution processes |
Provide business-critical reporting outside SAP R/2 thus off-loading processing from the Mainframe environment. |
Patni collaborated with the client to build SMART (Sales & Marketing Analysis, Reporting Tool), a global data warehouse where data collected from SAP & Manugistics is refreshed on a daily basis.
