The client is a leading global provider of human resource (HR) advice and specialty consulting services operating in over 40 countries.


The Challenge

The client was facing efficiency and compliance issues managing geographically wide-spread processing locations. Some of the key challenges faced by the client include:


Process spread over multiple locations in Ireland
Inefficient and inconsistent process documentation
Inability to manage seasonal fluctuations in volume due to staff shortage
Lack of standardization across locations
Absence of MIS capabilities
Absence of quality assurance mechanism

The client engaged Patni to help streamline their operations to improve speed and efficiency of their operations.



 

The Solution

Patni process optimization specialists focused on standardization, automation and quality improvement of the processes under consideration through the following systematic, staged approach:

Creation of a core team: Patni put together a core team with appropriate technical competency and domain expertise in benefits administration to understand the client’s operations onsite
Standardization of documents across multiple locations: Patni process optimization experts set up standard, consistent processes and introduced standard working papers and guidelines across locations.
Error analysis and resolution: Patni developed a database to track errors and improvement opportunities on schemes, capable of generating varied reports in tracking the overall process deliverables
Cross training program: Patni undertook an intensive training program to cross train its resources across different reports to handle seasonal volumes surges and adhoc business exigencies

Patni is currently providing services for six sub processes under Defined Contribution namely: New Entrant, On-loads, Allocations, Leaver payments, Leaver Option statement & Member reconciliations.
