Xerox Connect partners with Patni for its Oracle Financials 11i implementation

The Client

Xerox Connect Inc (now Xerox Global Services Inc), one of the three main business units of Xerox Corporation, is a consulting, outsourcing and integration company.

The Challenge

The client's key objective was to implement Oracle Financials 11i application suite to facilitate end-to-end consolidation across its operations, as also to facilitate uniformity in the financial systems across Xerox Corporation. Patni was selected for its qualified consulting expertise and its capability to ensure end-toned ownership of the implementation phases and project management.

Patni's challenge on the project was to help the client achieve:

Tighter integration within financial applications
Tighter and easier integration with systems at Xerox Corp
Single business view within Xerox Connect
Scalable, rock-solid ERP infrastructure
Alignment with future plans and expansions
Better and faster service to customers

This was to be accomplished in a tight schedule and budget, which required Patni to leverage its offshore capabilities and rich experience, in delivering quality output and maintaining high team productivity, through professional project management.

 

The Solution

Patni adopted a phased approach and Oracle's industry-proven AIM methodology.

Highlights of the implementation:

Diversified service offerings and proven skills including product installation, implementation and customization, application development, database administration, ERP-implementation project management, and maintenance & support
Implemented Oracle Financials using the new Chart of Accounts
Migrated 6 years of history data to the new system with to-the-penny reconciliation, without sacrificing time or performance benefits, while maintaining the schedule
Ensured minimum impact to current business processes
Ensured support of existing interfaces to third party applications
Facilitated faster month closure
Ensured a scalable implementation
More than 100 AIM documents generated throughout the implementation, enabling smooth transition to the client's IT team
More than 3.5 million legacy records moved to Oracle Financials within a month with to-the-penny reconciliation
All reports retained with same look and feel as the legacy report ensuring end-users comfort to the new system
Very Close mapping of business processes to the legacy process to facilitate end-users migrating to the new system
Highly productive offshore team delivered all custom reports and more than 80 Financial Statements within a rapid turn-around time
